Growing in the Right Direction!

On Tuesday we had our follow-up visit in North Atlanta with the orthotics / prosthetics specialists about the shape of Jack's head. I am very excited to report that he was down from 11.8 mm asymmetric to 9.9 mm!! That probably doesn't mean anything to most people, but this is actually very good news. The specialist was very excited that he had that much positive growth in just one month. If we can get him down to 7 mm then he'll be within normal range, and we won't have to even question the whole "Should we or shouldn't we get him a helmet?" thing.

Lyle and I were both extremely encouraged after this visit (and Jack would be, too, if he knew what was going on!) If you think of us, please pray that Jack's head will keep growing in the right shape to correct this problem. Thank you!!

  2. I'm glad to hear everything is going in the right direction! I have a friend who had a little boy that had the same problem and he had to wear a helmet...but it did correct the problem! I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers. :)

  3. Wonderful news! We will continue to pray for all of you. In your previous post you wondered "How do you do it?" One day at a time dear. Fortunately parenting isn't something that happens quickly - there will be ups and downs and you will think you have hit the highest and lowest you can and then something else happens. However, you are never alone - He walks with you all the time. I am sure as you continue your journey as a mother more things your own mother said will come to mind. I know you miss her. She raised you well and your children will benefit from that. Take care.
